Spiral design.

This is the design my sister likes enough to make an appliqué of.
When I printed it I found it printed as Dark Blue and Green instead of Blue and Cyan. I hadn't turned colour management on. lol

My Sis wanted a Black and White copy anyway so that was all-right.

Restarting

I have restarted my blog as I have joined a site that wants me to do something creative everyday. .

My sister saw what I designed for Day 2 and said it will make a nice appliqué so would I  make it bigger and print it out. Thankfully I made it in Inkscape so it's a vector that will easily scale up.

Online again again

I have been really really dumb.

I think.

Actually i'm not sure what happened.

Because of my upgrade and reinstalling woes I have had to ask for my passwords to be reset and had all but one done. Was getting a little anxious about my online debit card which I only use if I want to buy online. The password hadn't arrived and I needed to know how much was in my account as I had to pay for a purchase . Today I caught my email program (thunderbird) moving practically all my mail to the Junk folder. I don't know why it did this as I don't recall asking it to move anything much to the folder. Strange. You probably guessed the password reset info was in there. agh.

Procrastinating and Distractions

I should not be on the net. I should be working offline on my one hundred pages for the writing blog contest I signed up for. However when I sit down to write inspiration flies out the door.

It happens in other areas too. When I sit down to write in my blog for instance.

Before I wrote this post I spent some minutes fiddling with the colours and layout.

I actually prefer to talk rather than write . Talking is immediate you get feedback to keep you going. Writing is so static by comparison.

online again

I am finally back up and running after crashing my system by getting so carried away with my win2000 install that I surfed the net with no firewall only antivirus software on.

A trojan generator got through and trashed my system so badly I had to reinstall. And then I found that 2000 wont load if it doesn't like your system so had to change bits and pieces to find out what it was objecting to. Had to reinstall w98 to get back on the net to find out why 2000 was playing up.

After trial and error, and surfing forums, found out it was dirty ram that was the trouble. W2000 likes a clean system. All this took the better part of two weeks, during which time I was only on the net long enough to download needed software, as I hadn't performed a proper backup on to CDs, just moved my files onto the w98 partition while I installed 2000. agh

Have discovered there is no rediteller on the island so will have to ATM as little as possible.

Banks

Why are banks (and credit unions) so mean?

These days we are required to have a bank account to put our wages or pension in, so banks think they can get away with paying us under 1% interest and charge fees on top!

My credit union has told me that I will have to find a Rediteller ( a brand of ATM) in future to avoid paying another fee.

Being disabled, and on an island, I have to find any ATM I can. The best ATM is at the IGA where I can actually reach and see what I am doing, unlike the one at the RSL where I have to raise my self off my chair, memorise the instruction, and sit down again to press the buttons.

I will have to find out which, if either of them, is a rediteller.

Stay tuned.

Almost a year old

Next month will be the first anniversary of this blog. It has been a whole year since Ganeida convinced me to start one.

As you may have noticed I'm not a regular or good blogger. I put this down to a dislike of small talk and a reticence to air my thoughts until I've thought them through.

I have wonderful thoughts in my head, LOL, but lose them as soon as I sit down to write.

I think part of the problem is self-censorship having watched "Rope" once too often.

Rope is an Alfred Hitchcock movie about 2 young men who kill another man after absorbing a professors teaching on philosophy.
